Avocados, Papayas, Bananas, Breadfruit and Coconut make up some of the food growing on the land. Water from hose (not for filling water tanks) and porta potie bathroom on site available at this time. Electric plug ins for laptop and phone plus wireless internet available. We have a special stainless steel kitchen worktop table where you can set up your cooking gear and cook meals.
We also have a 30X30 community tent setup where you can hang out, cook in, or camp underneath with plastic tables, wood chairs provided and comfy zone provided. The floor is a bit rocky but itʻs a great place to hang out when raining or to just chill. Noise curfew 8PM.
We are happy to host and excited to be a part of this experience. And did we mention the milky way at night? Right above your head! We aim to make your stay most enjoyable. A Hana resident since 2005 we have lots of great tips!
Such an awesome spot to camp overnight when doing the Road to Hana. It seems a lot of people jam the trip into one day but we split it up into two. This HipCamp location gave us a spot to rest our head about halfway through our road trip. We were nestled among bamboo, had access to a hot shower and kitchen. It also had Wi-Fi which came in handy when searching some things for the remainder of our journey. Hana Alanna (the HipCamp coordinator) also showed us around the Hana Lava Tube. So nice of her. Special shout-out to Dom, one of the staff members there, for getting us acquainted with the space. I would definitely go back to this spot as it’s one of the most affordable and most practical options if you don’t mind sleeping in a tent. Mahalo Stargazers!

You may need to stay somewhere in Hana to make "Road to Hana" trip no rush. We would recommend Alana's land to camping. She is so helpful and lovely. Her team as well. We had great experience camping with rain and peace.

We enjoyed our stay at Alana's campsite! We added the bedding setup to our stay, and they had everything ready to go for us when we arrived. Alana texted me on the day of arrival with detailed directions and pictures of landmarks to help us find the campsite, as there is no cell service on the road to Hana (download offline maps before you go). It was very easy to get to! The common areas were enjoyable for hanging out, cooking, and eating, and there was fresh drinking water at the site. The restroom is a porta-potty, but it was very clean and always stocked with toilet paper. We would absolutely stay here again!

Staying at the campsite we had a lot of privacy in the tent area and a common area to hang out under a large tent when we wanted to socialize! The hosts are super nice and accommodating!
This was such a beautiful spot. A lovely retreat into the jungle. It was walking distance to a few restaurants. Close to Hana and all that the road to Hana had to offer. Would stay again.
Simple, serene, and green
The Stargazers was a great place to stay in Hana. The spot was beautiful and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a camper van, but others we saw were staying in a tent. They had plenty of space for both options. Loved our time there.Kind, clean, easy to find, fun!
Warm. And I don’t mean the weather. Alana and gang were sweet from the first moment to the last. The property is gorgeous and the hot outdoor shower is . We chose to hang out and make great conversation but you can also have your very secluded experience if you prefer. Internet is enough for messaging but not much else. Hana is a small spot but definitely a unique “jungle country” experience. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Amazing people, great location, easy to find, very accommodating and kind. The common space tent was a great idea and I can't wait to come back and see the changes. Our 2.5 year old loved it. Sunset under the banyan tree was to die for. Loved it all.

We loved staying at this campsite! It was the perfect place to stay with our campervan in Hana. This was our first trip to Hawaii and Maui and we had the best time. Alana was so kind, welcoming, and friendly. The campground was a great place to stay and we even had an ocean view! The space was so lovely with fresh flowers and a huge banyan tree to explore in. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Hana.
Great spot for my friend and I as we bike toured around Maui. Hana A was a great host and surprised us with fully set up tent when arrived after sunset! This made our arrival much easier. We are really grateful for her assistance and above and beyond hospitality!
One big tip to note tor travelers is that we are on the East side of Maui. Also know as the "rain forest" side of the island. We have the waterfalls and the luscious green tropics because it rains almost every night, (and sometimes passing showers during the day). Be prepared with rain gear for this area, and mosquitos mostly in the evening.
Although we do have some mosquito nets to share if needed to put over your back door (on a first come first serve basis). Sprays, Headlamps, sneakers, and rain ponchos are recommended for this side of the island. This is where you will find the best of all the islands in one small town.
Ultimately, we will do whatever it takes to make your stay more comfortable. We have an onsite team of that aims to please and if there is anything you need please donʻt hesitate to ask!
